I have been thinking about something in your last post since I saw it though. The front of your house is totally blocked by that tree. Have you considered getting rid of it or do you love it?
that's a tree AND a shrub? Wow. Yes, that's the one I was talking about. But if you love it then you love it and that's what matters. I just think it dwarfs your cute house.
A happier shrub? Does it look unhappy, Anne? Do you know what it is? I'd like to make it happy--or transplant it....somewhere. There's another in the backyard.
The shrubs under your tree all look a bit peaked in the picture you have where you're testing paint colors. Can you post a zoomed in photo of just the shrubs? The Big Shrub just looks a little brown, it might be the photo, and the one on the left looks very thin.

Which tree? There are two. I absolutely do love the one on the left (behind the Big Shrub) and aesthetically it should be the one to go.
I've gone back and forth on removing them.
Pro: aesthetics. Possibly more light inside.
Con: No protection from the winter winds. Greater Exposure to the street.
I think with a good trim and some happier shrubs underneath, the left-hand tree would look a little less out of place.
That said, nice composter, I'M SO JEALOUS!
