It's A Beautiful Day in the Neighbourhood

It's just across a major street from us (And soon to be across the tracks, as the city constructs Light Rail Transit to ferry folks to and from the University and the south of town).

And here I am, to bring you along, with my new haircut:

I'm not going to say much on this tour. You can just enjoy the evening. Remember, you can click any image for a larger view.

and just around the corner, in the alley, we find this:

Thanks for joining me on the walk.

Oh, for cute! I want one of each of them, though I think the white house with the red door is my favorite.

I love those ferns! They would be so cute for your house (IMHO) and ferns are so easy- I have two types here and I love the fact I can ignore them and they still look great.
My favorite is that red wood house. It has that shrubbery in the front I want to remove (close to the big window) but I do love that house.

I love the ferns as well and was also just thinking how good they would look in your yard, but will they die back to the ground in the winter, do you think? So they might not be ideal for the bits you are trying to fill with winter interest.

And that last house has the swoopy front that is so often done wrong in my neighborhood, I love it with that stone chimney! There are too many good things to say about these pictures, what a nice neighborhood with great landscaping! You are tempting me to do my own neighborhood walk except we have much less variety and visual interest so I know I will just get depressed.

I absolutely love that last house, with the skijump and the chimney.

I'm currently without Photoshop, so I can't post the picture I want to post, of the house my Aunt & Uncle lived in during the 50s and 60s, but I really really want to... it fits so well with your house.
