As for the tree-it looks too close to your house foundation- is it? As much as you like the tree- having it's roots hurt your foundation wouldn't be a good thing either. If you really want to keep it- try pruning it- raise the limbs so that you can see out of your windows to start- then you can go from there.
Anne--this was the "shrub" which was in front of the house, next to the front stoop. I sawed the branches off June 30th--I think I posted about that July 1 or 2.
