From the Weekend: Last Weekend
This is actually a photo of my desk from last week.
Why am I showing you a picture from last week?
Because that's when I decided to prep like mad for this week. I did my menu plans for two weeks (last week and this), made two meals instead of one on more than one occasion, and I got all caught up on the laundry so that this week would be worry free.
Why all the prep? Well, finally, I am getting more hours at work--and I did not want things to fall apart at home.
We'll see how it goes. If it works, I may have a strategy for coping with work and home.
Wouldn't that be incredible?

Well done on all your hard work at home and congrats at your increased hours at work. They must love you, as we do!
I've been plowing away at my garage/family room conversion and it feels great to check off lists I made in the January cure!
That's wonderful! I still struggle along (limp along???) Trying to get things accomplished in both places. I often dream about the days when I only dealt with a summer job when I was in university. I'd work during the day and when it was quitting time, I could pa k my bag and walk out the door to freedom. (Yes, those were the pre-children days.)
Now I struggle with how much work to bring home with me each day. I teach special ed students so everyone has their own individual work. Since they need extra support, that's what I do all day. The. I spend evenings getting more things planned for all 14 of them! Any planning time I have at school is spent filling out the mountains of school board and provincial govt. paperwork. So something always has to give. It's an uneasy balancing act that I dread.
I really am glad to know that if I keep working at it I may get a much better work life balance established. You seem to have developed some 'method to your madness' if you know what I mean. So it is possible for me to succeed as well....I'm going to keep my eyes on you since you may be just what I need!
Don't worry about leading me astray. I do that we'll enough on my own!! :o)
Mariethanks for your kindness! I am thrilled to hear of your progress.
Janina, that's so hard. Your job is truly selfless--bless you for doing it. I have no idea if my way of thinking will help you--but I promise to let you know if it works out at the end of the week.
Phew, you are on track!
What better timing could one wish for, now that the outbox is "done", chances are, that your home won't fall apart in the new future.
Best wishes! May the force be with you :-)
Paula--fingers crossed!
