Nonetheless.
I have been living with my popcorn ceiling since forever. (It was 1997 when I moved in. Since then.)
About a month ago, I read the exploits of a young Vancouver couple who have actually tackled ALL the popcorn on their apartment's ceilings. Hats off to them, for sure! Laren and Paolo at meetmyuglybaby.com inspired me to tackle our. I started with just this little bit in the "foyer."
(oh, sorry, you want to actually see the popcorn, don't you? and yes, I will be replacing that light fixture just as soon as is feasible.)
more?
There it is.
It wasn't that hard at all, even though we had painted it.
I sprizted with water and scraped. I got it this far and left it for a couple of days. I wondered if my husband would notice.
He didn't.
But, once begun, is half done, so I started at it again.
I worked in 15 minute bursts, in no particular rush, until I finished.
I found what it was hiding: an enourmous crack and, even, a hole.
Nothing new in this house.
But.
I've another project.
And really?
I just wanted to paint the walls.

Transforming the Foyer
Is it really a foyer, though, when it is 3 feet seven inches wide (109cm) and 11 feet 3 inches long (343 cm) with a doorway on every wall?

Congrats on getting all that "popcorn" off the ceiling. To me those are the toughest jobs, working over your head on ceiling re-dos.
Yeaaaaaa!!!!!! Champion stuff!
Amazing work! My whole house has that stuff except for the kitchen and bathrooms, and guess which are the only ceilings I've painted? I can't wait to see more of your work!
Now, have you chosen a wall color?
