One of my not so brilliant ideas in the past was to "paint out" all the trim on the house. I did this because I'd read somewhere that it would help make the house look larger.
This summer, I decided we needed to refresh and energize the place: so we'd paint all the trim white. Of course.
Well, I don't happen to have a proper "before" picture of the back of the house. You can get an idea of just how awful my original idea was when you see this, though.
Of the front, I have last year's picture of the first snow, Nov 11.
Here are the pictures as of this afternoon.

and the first snow of the year.
Of course, we're not done.
I suspect the snow is here to stay, too.
Of course.

oh no snow. I can't handle snow right now. I haven't even brough in my garden crap yet...
There was a white blanket on the ground outside when I awoke this morning. My disgruntlement, let me show you it...
I'm not sure whether you're saying you like the white trim, or you don't like the white trim, but I like the white trim on your house. I just don't like the white stuff on your lawn. I also don't like that you sent me some of the snowy white stuff to adorn my surroundings. *grin*
Sorry about the snow but I do like the white trim (at least the painted stuff, the other kind looks a bit too cold). We had a big freeze so my garden is pretty much done but now it warmed up and we are expecting storms so there is a flood warning! I'd almost rather have snow!
Hi! Hasina from Montreal here! I used to read your blog a while ago, and saw your comment over at Apartment Therapy, which reminded me of your blog. Just wanted to say hi. :)
