Menu Plans for January

Well, they are done again for the month! I actually invented a new form yesterday to help me take inventory of my pantry and freezer. I'm quite pleased with it, though it needs some fine tuning, now that I've used it.

But it was helpful. January is "use up what we have" month--so there's not much we'll be needing to buy this month.

Anyway, without further ado, here are the menus:

  1. Looks good! The tomato & cabbage soup reminds me of something my mother used to make. I'll have to ask her for the recipe.

I have a question--when you roast a ham, do you use the leftovers in another weeknight meal? I can see that you do so with the chicken, but am not really familiar enough with ham to see where it might be used in the recipes you've posted.

    Happy New Year!

  2. And a Happy New Year to you, too!

The Hoppin' John is a sort of soup/stew and I throw in some of the left over ham. But other than that, I don't have formal plans for it. I really should.

  3. See, ham is the one item where I'd be thinking "lunch" rather than adding it to dinner recipes... ham sandwiches... pan-fried ham in an omelet... pan-fried ham with pancakes... I'm hungry just thinking about it.

I remain impressed with Alana's ability to follow a menu plan for an entire month!
