The beast is out of the ground.
It took a week. One wheelbarrow of dirt a day. We never did find any large "taproot" holding down the poor old thing.
Now I have to decide: how much of the tree right at the front do I want removed?
If we take it all, I will miss it dreadfully.
Doesn't this require a Bada Boom? That was ENORMOUS effort.
ReplyDeleteGreat job! That was so much work.
ReplyDeleteAs for the tree-it looks too close to your house foundation- is it? As much as you like the tree- having it's roots hurt your foundation wouldn't be a good thing either.
If you really want to keep it- try pruning it- raise the limbs so that you can see out of your windows to start- then you can go from there.
Wait, where was this giant thing ?
ReplyDeletegoodness gracious- that is HUGE! great job!
ReplyDeleteAnne--this was the "shrub" which was in front of the house, next to the front stoop. I sawed the branches off June 30th--I think I posted about that July 1 or 2.
