Glitch!

It seems the scanner lightbulb is on the fritz!
I just tried to scan some pictures in for the slideshow and all I got were streaked red images.....

Can one even replace a scanner lightbulb?
It's an Epson Perfection 1250.
I love it!
Help.

  1. Ack! I don't know anything about scanner light bulbs, but I just wanted to send some sympathy, and good vibes for being able to fix it. Hope someone has some help for you. I just googled replace scanner bulb and got one good tip -- check with the Customer Service for the scanner company. There's lots more hits on that search, whether or not any of them are helpful... I didn't use quotes, just the words

    replace scanner bulb

    Good luck!!!

  2. Thanks scb. That's awfully sweet of you. I contacted epson via e-mail and was told to click on "locate service centre in your area." Well, the one in "my area" is 300km away.
    Blast, blast blast.

  3. I had this same thing happen to me! Before you try replacing the bulb try this. Unplug the scanner from the outlet and also unplug the cord from the back of the scanner. Let it sit for a good while. Then make sure and move the scanner as far away as possible from all other electronics. I don't know why it is but its like it gets a build up of static or electricity and it causes it to scan wrong. Hope this helps:)
