If it's a craft project then it is not that important to finish, but if it's a cleaning or organizing project then it's better to finish.onshorehttps://www.blogger.com/profile/10217237226866880177noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-7996566617043488147.post-82124050687552710912013-10-05T09:14:23.074-06:002013-10-05T09:14:23.074-06:00Is it always a bad thing not to finish a project? ...Is it always a bad thing not to finish a project? Losing interest in it seems like a good reason to me not to finish (unless you still wanted the thing you would have had at the end.)Alana in Canadahttps://www.blogger.com/profile/08440969357242099169noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-7996566617043488147.post-39029335291574908562013-10-05T05:57:07.043-06:002013-10-05T05:57:07.043-06:00I assume you know by now that I'm no perfectio...I assume you know by now that I'm no perfectionist, I tend to start things without knowing how I will finish them. I do get a lot done that way but also some projects never finish, either because I do not know how to continue or I loose interest in it or because I have made the start wrong because I have not seen the big picture like a perfectionist would have. so sometimes not being a perfectionist has its disadvantages.onshorehttps://www.blogger.com/profile/10217237226866880177noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-7996566617043488147.post-34740457571948621012013-10-04T22:53:42.360-06:002013-10-04T22:53:42.360-06:00Hi Carol-Anne! Great to "see" you again!...Hi Carol-Anne! Great to "see" you again!

Rita--I read something recently about how "perfect" tends to live in the same place as "done" and "finished" and how, over the course of life, those are truly arbitrary points. Giving up perfect helps us go with the "flow" as it were--and unless we give up "perfect" we can't go with the flow.

Having twins is a rather rude way to learn all that, though! Yikes.Alana in Canadahttps://www.blogger.com/profile/08440969357242099169noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-7996566617043488147.post-40543073885320737902013-10-04T22:11:18.626-06:002013-10-04T22:11:18.626-06:00I also refer to myself as a perfectionist in recov...I also refer to myself as a perfectionist in recovery. I've come a long way. Having twins 15 years ago was a life-changer in this area for me. After having them, I could not come close to my previous standards in any part of my life. It was the beginning of a process that continues today. I'm guessing I'll always be one, and always be fighting my tendency to feel things have to be perfect.Ritahttps://www.blogger.com/profile/04227597091783239454noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-7996566617043488147.post-90791432964849480512013-10-04T19:10:05.477-06:002013-10-04T19:10:05.477-06:00I never cease to be amazed at your level of intros...I never cease to be amazed at your level of introspection and honesty.
